At Camp Arrowhead, boys learn to use their skills, knowledge, and resources to accomplish their goals rather than depending on others to carry them through. Fostering a boy’s confidence in his ability to succeed is paramount to him becoming independent.
Leadership
Camp Arrowhead teaches boys the skills needed to contribute to the world as a leader. Away from the unrelenting messaging that tells our youth they are not enough, boys are free at camp to think for themselves, to be themselves, and to take charge of their lives. By modeling leadership everyday through our staff and giving campers opportunities to practice leading, we aim to build them up to be confident leaders in our community and back home.
Outdoor Adventure
We can learn a lot from experiencing nature first hand and Camp Arrowhead provides the adventure boys are yearning for. Campers are given the chance to find their own adventures with the preparation and support needed to face them confidently, from learning to identify edible plants in camp to racing down a trail on a mountain bike.
Self-Expression
In camp, boys can be their true self. Our community and culture is an environment where we can all take off our armor and feel confident in our ability to express ourselves productively. Expressing yourself at camp may look like making friends, crafting a piece of art, getting goofy in a skit, or just letting loose and having fun.
